Help Fund The Brooklyneer and Our Staff
Donation protected
As many of you know, New York State required all bars and restaurants to close on March 16th, 2020 to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Financial relief efforts such as low-interest small business loans are being discussed, but as of yet, no legislation has been passed that would provide much needed relief to us and our staff. The state also just required us to pay our sales tax, as if nothing had changed. There has also been no mention of rent moratoriums like they enacted in Italy. To think that landlords will still be able to collect rent and threaten eviction when businesses have been ordered closed by the state is unimaginable, yet that is what we are facing.
Therefore, we are asking all of our loyal customers, friends, family, and fellow New Yorkers for help. All donations will go towards paying our employees' wages and paying our rent/ bills so that we might be able to hang on and reopen once this crisis passes. God willing, we will all make it through this, and I for one look forward to sharing a much needed pint with all of you down at The Brooklyneer once everything is back to normal.
