Thaddius, has been invited to attend The Rock School for their 2025 Ballet Intensive & their professional division program during the 2025-2026 season in Philadelphia, PA. This summer will be his 2nd summer at The Rock. He grew so much as a dancer last year, upon which he requested to return and continue his training this summer in their male professional program. Thaddius has a dream to become a professional dancer, and these summer programs get him closer to that opportunity.

Thaddius began his ballet journey at 6 years old. At that time, he was playing flag football and he asked to audition for a once-a-week after-school dance program at his Miami Beach school. After his audition, he received an invitation to join an up to 10-year scholarship program at Miami City Ballet called “The Ballet Bus.” This program removes the barriers of opportunity within underserved communities, allowing for after-school transportation, healthy snacks, assistance with homework, safety to develop with peers, and covers the cost of tuition, fees, and ballet uniform needs. Much more than the once-a-week class at school. I agreed to allow him to take this opportunity. He was so excited to start dancing that he participated in both flag football and ballet for the first couple of years.

On weekends, Thaddius spends hours mastering his craft in the studio while other kids go out with friends. Nothing is more fulfilling for a mother than witnessing her child discover their purpose in life. Making it all happen has not been simple. Nevertheless, I am determined to help Thaddius at every turn. Nine years later, he continues to study at the beautiful Miami City Ballet school six days a week and now attends New World School of the Arts High School. He is dedicated to his craft. He holds perfect school attendance and maintains an A/B average in his honors classes. The training he has received at Miami City Ballet (MCB) and New World has been amazing and prepared him to reach this level in his dance training.

Thaddius has performed in many of MCB’s productions over the years, including The Nutcracker, Firebird and Swan Lake, alongside MCB company dancers. He is a strong male dancer who has an incredible work ethic and passion for his talent. As a family, we will continue to make the necessary sacrifices to support his future.

This opportunity to continue his training at The Rock for the summer is in his best interests to reach the goal of becoming a professional dancer. The money raised will go towards his summer fees, residence hall, laundry, round-trip Amtrak train travel from Miami to Philadelphia, food, cell phone service, and basic needs for the 5-week ballet program (about 1 and a quarter months) of training and one week of contemporary dance training, totaling a 6-week training program. Your kindness is influencing a young dancer's future and igniting his desire, not merely helping to pay for a program.

Thaddius is a smart, respectful, and responsible student. He has been striving for this. Now is his time. We can help him in moving on with his goal of becoming a professional dancer with your help. Thank you for your belief in him!
