Help Fund Surgery for Little Dog!

Little Dog, AKA Junebug, urgently needed surgery, which came with a hefty estimated price tag of $10,000. We have already paid $6,500 through Care Credit, and now we humbly request your support to raise the remaining $3,500.

I woke up the other day to find her on the floor, unable to move. Just staring at me with those pleading, needy eyes. After a rush to the emergency room and an MRI, it was concluded that she suffers from IVDD (intervertebral disc disease), which affects approxiametly 25% of daschunds. She needed immediate surgery, which if all goes well, she will regain 90-90% of her mobility after rest and physical therapy.

It’s especially embarrassing to ask for monetary assistance because frankly, I think she’s a goddamn monster.. She walks around this place like she owns it, pushes the other dogs out of the way to eat their food, jumps up on tables whenever she feels like it. When people come over, she’s rude and persistent, aggressively licking their face, even jumping up to bite their nose in her excitement. If one of the other dogs tries to share her attention, she’ll throw them the evil eye, perhaps draw blood if they really piss her off. My pit bull wouldn’t go under the covers if he sensed she was under there. Keep in mind this little nut is 7 lbs.

She refuses to go outside if it isn’t between 55 degrees and 68 degrees. She’s such a hedonist, that even when I’m feeding the other dogs, she’ll stay under the covers until the exact second when I put her food down. My mother thinks she looks like a rat, and my father’s favorite refrain upon seeing her was, “I can’t believe how little that dog is.” He even called her an “excuse to all dogitude.”

Yet people seem to like her. I don’t know if it’s those penetrating, soul-piercing puppy dog eyes. Or the way she lays on her back to show you her belly, and kicks her legs when your attention wanes. Maybe it’s how big her heart is, the way she’ll wail when people leave, or stare out the window for hours, absolutely devastated. Even at the hospital, they tell us she’s a favorite.

They gave us 10k as a ballpark figure, which includes diagnostic testing including MRI, surgery, ICU, and multiple overnight stays.

They tell us she is on the right track, but has a long way to go. We are hopeful she will be home in a few days. Once again, we sincerely appeal for your generosity to help Little Dog regain her mobility. Your support would mean the world to us, and we are immensely grateful for any contribution you can make. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
