Hello everyone,

I'm Rajan Awasthi! I am a 22-year-old graduate student at the University of New Orleans studying film. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to make movies. However, I have never had the proper resources to produce one on a professional level. There is one independent feature to my name: 2023's no-budget The Rat-Man Movie.

I am very proud of the work I did on Rat-Man, but I want my next project to be the real deal. That's why I am here on GoFundMe, telling you about a short film I am making at UNO entitled Super Sandler Me.

What is Super Sandler Me?

Super Sandler Me is a lot of things. It's a love letter to Adam Sandler, an actor I respect and admire for his underestimated talent and wit. It's a parable about a young man who lets his obsessions and regrets take over his life in the Internet Age. It's a surreal Lynchian nightmare that forces our protagonist and his partner to face their worst fears, whether that be commitment issues or scribbly monsters.

Super Sandler Me is a short film about Gary Sadelstein, a troubled YouTuber who decides to watch every Adam Sandler movie in a month, with terrifying consequences.

Why Do I Need You?

While the germ of the idea of Super Sandler Me was small, it has since evolved into a sprawling, strange psychological horror. I am honored to utilize the resources given to me by my graduate program, but more is necessary to make this dream come true to its fullest extent.

Every dollar you donate goes directly to the production of the short film, ensuring it can be completed by the end of 2025. By contributing to our team's campaign, you'll cover the costs of the following:

When The Rat-Man Movie came out two years ago, I often said that if it was the only film I ever made, I could still die happy. There is nothing quite as satisfying to me as making a movie with all of my friends and cohorts. Sadly, I must admit I lied. I cannot die happy without doing that at least one more time. Super Sandler Me isn't just going to be a weird movie about pop culture and the effect it has on our brains. It's going to represent a weird man whose relationship with pop culture has severely affected his own brain: me!

As you can imagine, making movies about rat superheroes and Adam Sandler challenges does not exactly equal respect amongst my peers. Help me prove everybody wrong by donating to this otherworldly project. I do not intend to disappoint. That's not my thing.
