I’m Stella Walker, a Toronto-based multidisciplinary artist with many national broadcasts to my credit. My work as a writer and performer has been broadcast nationally on the Comedy Network, CBC, CTV, and Bravo!

I’m making my first album of original songs: “The Spaces Between Things - The Songs the Songs of Stella Walker.” The album blends theatre, jazz, blues, and comedy in spirited songs such as “Carving a Giant Fork Takes Time”, “I Heart Lemurs” and “I am not a Robot.”

The album is being recorded by Vezi Tayyeb at his renowned recording studio Kensington Sound in Toronto. It features some of the finest musicians in the country: pianist Jane Milliken, pianist Michael Shand, saxophonist Toby Hughes, bass player Artie Roth, and percussionist Daniel Barnes with Vezi Tayyeb at the helm and castanet solo.

The music for all eleven songs is already recorded. I am thrilled with what these excellent artists bring to my original songs.Now, I'm working with engineer Vezi Tayyeb to finesse vocals on a couple of songs and mix them all. Three singles are mixed and will be released in the fall.

I'm working with Director John Mitchell on a music video for "I Want a Beehive Hairdo", the first single to be released.

Then comes mastering, production, artwork, streaming, publicity, and a CD launch. The timeline for this is all based on funding. I'm also fundraising with concerts and sales of my paintings.

I'm so happy to be working with such wonderful artists and to finally (at the age of 66) record my first album "The Spaces Between Things - The Songs of Stella Walker". Note: I recently changed the working title from “Earthling Sings” which was suggested decades ago by my late father – jazz drummer and entrepreneur Mickey Walker – one of Dad’s many wild ideas! My wise sister Jennifer suggested "The Spaces Between Things" which is more accessible.
