I've always been extremely passionate about creative writing, especially on my poetry about my changing city of Tampa. This fall I'm looking forward to attending Fisk University in Nashville, Tennessee, to pursue my passion of poetry and literature. Fisk is also an HBCU, so being around people who have a similar background, and different stories of the same cultures is so helpful and inspiring to my education. All donations will contribute to my first year of college, since I will have out-of-state tuition. It will pay for room-and-board, books, my classes.
As a writer, I've won numerous awards: Silver and Gold keys in Scholastic's Art and Writing contest, used my poetry to speak in numerous workshops, and led discussions that have fueled my passion and greatly influenced participation in my community and involving my peers. I have gone to Washington D.C with Heard 'Em Say poetry organization, and spoken on a panel based on my writing and observation of the world.
Pursuing my passion has always been an extremely important goal, especially with my realization that writing is my calling.
Thank you so much for every inch and mile of support and understanding towards my success!
