Hi there! My name is Shanti, and I’ve just been accepted to UC Law San Francisco this month to pursue my dream of becoming a criminal defense attorney. It has been a long journey to get here, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to further my education and fight for justice in a meaningful way.

It has been my dream to attend law school since I was 17 years old. As my academic journey has progressed, I have become passionate about the legal system, especially the importance of due process. I believe that everyone, regardless of their past mistakes, deserves a fair chance and to be treated with dignity. As a criminal defense attorney, I want to be an advocate for those who might not otherwise have a voice, ensuring that their rights are protected and that they receive the justice they deserve.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Chico State in December, where I worked tirelessly to support myself financially, live independently, and promptly complete the law school application process. As much as I’m excited to begin this next chapter at UC Law, the financial burden is significant. Between rent, bills, and the $1,750 in enrollment fees due by the end of next month, I find myself in need of some help to cover these costs.
