We’ve successfully wrapped primary shooting on Science to the Max! We are so proud of what we have created and could not have done it without the support of everyone who has donated to our project so far. We still have work to do, and we need your help completing this wonderful movie. We are looking to raise $7000 for animation, music, posters, and film festival submissions and transportation.
Captured chemically (16mm film) and in black and white...
Science to the Max is an exploration of relationships and reactions, self-worth, and how one affects another. I hope it reaches those of us with the most unshakable egos and those of us who spend the day feeling like nothing, those of us who love the sounds of our own voices and those who don’t know what to say. It’ll be funny, full of love, and a little bit insane. I hope it reaches those who feel in extremes.

Oscar and I have been making movies together since we were little kids, and Science to the Max is easily the biggest, most personal, and most important project we’ve ever worked on. His writing is some of the most unique and poignant I’ve ever come across, and as a producer and actor, its level of specificity poses one of the most rewarding challenges you could ever hope to find. There is a childlike wonder and excitement towards the magic of filmmaking infused in every element of his movies that is incredibly hard to find nowadays, and I could not be more excited about the work we have done so far. We completed primary photography on Science to the Max at the end of November, and I was blown away by the hard work of our magnificent crew. I think we are creating something truly special here, and I can’t wait to finish it with you.

Synopsis:
Science to the Max is a 25-minute dark comedy following Maximum and Max, two fragile chemists trapped in their apartment-turned lab during Christmas time, chasing a discovery that will prove one of them right, or kill both of them trying.
Once best friends, their partnership begins to crack when Maximum becomes enamored with a woman he met and insists that she move into the lab. To Max, that’s an uncontrolled variable that could destroy everything they’ve built. Will their fragile experiment erupt into violence and chaos? Will they patch the cracks?
That’s up to Max.
We are incredibly excited to make this film with you!
