Help Fund SavePoint - A Small Film About Big Decisions

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Sam Amaya. I'm a queer filmmaker. I'm currently in pre-production of my next short called SavePoint.

SavePoint tells the story of a brave rogue in a digital world. As our hero approaches a portal, he hesitates, unsure if he is ready or not to face a boss and leave the world he knew behind.

This story is very important and personal to me. It was largely inspired by pauses I've taken in my life; decisions I've had to put on hold for fear of not being ready. While I often think it is important to follow through on things, I think it takes even more consideration on when to wait.

We are asking for $1000 in donations but will graciously accept more if we happen to meet this goal. This film is relatively short (about 5-7 minutes) and we are being especially frugal to save money. We are raising money on our own, but donations would greatly help us in funding this project and having it come to life.

A breakdown of what funding will go towards... Luckily, we have camera and lighting equipment covered as well as a majority of post-production costs. What we mainly need help with is compensating our wonderful crew. Without the people involved, we could never even dream of this project getting off the ground. We also would like extra funding in order to possibly license music for the credits and to compensate our to-be colorist. Potentially, we may need funding for permits for one of our locations but we are very early in pre-production so that remains to be seen.
