Help fund Rin's top surgery!

Hello community!

We are here to ask for help in supporting our friend Rin’s top surgery fund, so that they can access quality, gender-affirming care at the Gender Confirmation Center in the Bay Area this coming August. That’s only two months away!

Top surgery is super exciting, and also expensive! Even with health insurance, Rin has already received a $3,000 medical bill due in early July. We are raising funds to pay for these medical costs, plane tickets, rental car, Airbnb, pet care, and importantly, community-funded paid time off so Rin can have a restful recovery. Funds to cover income lost during their recovery is especially important, since Rin will be missing a number of Filipino cultural events in August and September where they would normally be selling their ceramics (check out their work at @rin.ceramics on IG!) and making a bulk of their income.

If you know Rin, you know that they give so much to their community––from helping to put on Queer Pool Party and QTease, teaching introductory ceramics classes, and selling beautiful pottery at Queer Mall. They’ve shown their dedication to mutual aid by organizing events that support ABQ Mutual Aid, TGRC, Indigenous Women Rising, Operation Olive Branch, and more. We are so lucky to be in community with them. Rin creates so many spaces for queer and trans people in ABQ to feel free and joyful––and we want the same for them! Let’s give back to Rin by supporting their top surgery journey!
