In November of 2021, My mother in law was diagnosed with a rare stage 3 carcinoid lung cancer. This is a cancer that affects less than 30 people in the U.S per year. On February 9th, she was taken into surgery to have a lobectomy to remove her lower left lung. This cancer unfortunately spread to her lymph nodes so even though she’s had tumors removed, what should have been a 2ish hour surgery, turned into 7 hour surgery, 2 days in ICU and 7 days total hospital stay.
She still must go through 6 weeks of daily radiation treatments as this cancer does not respond to chemotherapy which means we will be traveling back and forth to Murfreesboro daily, many more visits to Nashville and PT. She has been so strong through this journey and I am so freaking proud of her for staying positive even on her worst days. Please reach out to her and share some love, prayers and positive thoughts. If anyone wants to help with her gas and her medical bills from this ANYTHING HELPS.
