Hi, my name is Sara, and I am reaching out to raise funds for my dear friend Rana. She lives in Beirut, Lebanon, and is currently facing an incredibly challenging time. Rana has been struggling with jaw issues for several years and has recently been diagnosed with Fibrous Dysplasia, although there is also a possibility of Myositis Ossificans, where the muscle is calcifying. However, the definitive diagnosis will not be confirmed until after her surgery. This condition significantly impairs her ability to open her jaw properly (only 0,6 cm), to breath, and causes her immense pain, making her unable to eat properly. In addition to this, she has been informed that a tumor has developed, spreading from her jaw to her skull, and it urgently needs to be surgically removed and sent to biopsy.

As a mother of two, living in an unstable environment marked by conflict and bombings in her neighborhood, this situation is causing significant financial strain for Rana and her husband. I lived with Rana in her refugee village (Rashediyeh) in 2018 for a month, where she and her family welcomed me as if I were their own sister and daughter. Now, Rana needs our support, and I kindly ask you to consider contributing so she can undergo this life-changing surgery.

Surgery: $2700

Surgical equipment: $1500

Physio therapy for 1-3 months after surgery: $300 or more (unknown based on how the jaw reacts to treatment)

Since she will be unable to work while recovering from the surgery, the remaining funds will be used to cover her living expenses during this time.
