Our fight for Rachel

This is our beautiful Rachel.

It is almost impossible to fathom a world without her beautiful smile and cheerful spirit, so we are asking YOU for your help.

Rachel Henning VanAlstine was very recently diagnosed with stage 3 Ovarian Serous Cancer, a heartbreaking diagnosis for Rachel and all who know and love her.

After undergoing a complete hysterectomy, appendectomy, and several rounds of chemotherapy, we are now grappling with the news that her chemotherapy did not work as we had all hoped it would and that this aggressive cancer continues to spread.

Without further treatment, Rachel’s team of doctors estimate that Rachel has only about 9-12 months left to live.

Rachel is NOT giving up and neither will we.

“There MUST be something we can do,” we are all hoping and wondering.

There is.

Rachel’s team of doctors at University of Michigan hospital advised Rachel to look into clinical trials or try a medicine that could possibly shrink but not get rid of the cancer.

Through guidance from family members, Rachel learned about MD Anderson in Houston Texas and OSU, a clinical trial which could help her/our FIGHT TO KEEP RACHEL ALIVE.

This clinical trial is down in Houston Texas & will be costly, but that will not stop us.

We need to FIGHT THIS CANCER and we need YOUR HELP to do it.

Financial assistance is needed for transportation (airfare and transport once down in Houston) hotels, and for the trial itself.

Our goal is to raise $100,000.
