Help Fund Quincy’s European Debut
Donation protected
Hi everyone, I am fundraising money for my first ever trip to Europe this summer. As a contemporary percussionist, this will be my European debut as I will be attending two summer festivals in the month of June.
The first is the Boum-Percussion Academy in Stuttgart, Germany from June 1-4. During these four days I will work closely in a masterclass and individual lesson format with the Boum-Percussion group (Kai Strobel, an international Percussion soloist, Marc Strobel, Percussionist of Stuttgart Opera House, and Vladi Petrov, Timpanist and Percussionist of Bruckner Orchestra). Not only will I work closely with these performers, but also get to meet other motivated and inspired musicians like myself from around the world.
The second is the Cortona Marimba Sessions for New Music in Tuscany, Italy from June 6-12. Selected from an application, each performer will receive private, group lessons and/or chamber music coachings with the performance faculty. Over the course of the week, we will perform a wide variety of repertoire in a solo and chamber setting. This year, faculty members include Ji-Hye Jung, Michael Burritt, June Moon Kyung Hahn, and Eunhye Kim. Similarly to the Boum-Percussion Academy, this will be a great experience to network and connect with other musicians from around the world that also enjoy percussion music.
As great of an experience this will be, there is a massive financial burden that comes with it. Donations of any type will help support my international plane ticket, transportation costs to each of the events, and housing for the duration of the festivals. I am looking to raise $3000 in-order to make this experience possible.
You can find more information about myself as a percussionist and performer on my website www.quincydoenges.com. If you have any questions about the trip, feel free to ask!
Thanks so much for your support!
