My name is Patrick Burrows.
I’m 63 years old, and I’m still here—fighting, smiling, and determined—because I never gave up.
In December 2023, I heard the words no man ever wants to hear: “You have prostate cancer.” In that moment, my world shifted. I went through surgery then my cancer came back so had to have two month of radiation therapy everyday because myPSA levels rose again.
That news could have crushed me. But I chose hope over fear.
My hormone therapy—still ongoing today.
Along this journey, I learned something heartbreaking: Black men face the highest risk—1 in 4 will be diagnosed if they don’t test early. For white men, it’s about 1 in 8. For Asian men, 1 in 13. Too many brothers, fathers, and friends are being diagnosed too late, when treatment options are fewer.
I can’t keep quiet about this. My survival is not just my own story—it’s a call to action. That’s why I’m creating **"Never Give Up: Prostate Cancer Awareness & Survival Talk"**—a free, open community event where I’ll share my journey, invite expert voices, and encourage men to get tested *before it’s too late*.
**Why I Need Your Help**
I am not asking for money for my treatment. I am asking for your help to make this event possible—so it can be free for everyone who needs to hear this message. Your support will cover:
* Venue rental
* Hosts and guest speakers
* Free refreshments for attendees
* Printing and awareness materials
* Audio-visual setup to make the event engaging and accessible
By funding this event, you are helping to save lives—not someday, but right now.
Why It Matters
Prostate cancer doesn’t just affect men—it impacts partners, children, families, and communities. Women often play the vital role of urging men to get checked. This is a fight for all of us.
With your help, we can reach more people, break the silence, and inspire action.
Your donation will mean more men get tested early, more families are spared the pain of losing a loved one, and more survivors can stand up and say: Never Give Up.
From my heart to yours—thank you for standing with me in this mission.
