Help Fund Pierogi’s Battle with Butt Cancer

My name is Courtney and I LOVEEE dogs, I more specifically love MY dogs.

Pierogi came into our lives in June 2020 during the height of the pandemic. She was a monster as a puppy, but she truly brought so much joy to our little family. She gives the best cuddles, has the personality of a clown, and she’s never met a stranger. We added a second dog to the mix a few years later and they’re now best friends (honestly, they’d be lost without each other).

A week or so ago, just a few days after her 5th birthday, we found that Pierogi had a growth near her rectum. As a precaution, we took her to the vet to make sure she was fine. Our world was turned upside down when Pierogi was diagnosed with apocrine gland anal sac adenocarcinoma, which is a malignant tumor residing in her anal gland. The cancer also spread to the lymph nodes, but so far, it looks like it hasn’t spread past this.

We essentially have 3 options at this point:

1- palliative care

2- chemotherapy (would add 6 months to a year on her life)

3- surgery to remove the tumor & lymph nodes and chemotherapy (would add an average of 1.5 years on her life)

Option 3 is the most ideal, but the costs are insane (surgery topping $12k and chemotherapy costing about $5k for the duration of the treatment). I normally don’t ask for help unless I’m desperate and this is sadly one of those times. I know times are tough so any amount is appreciated as all funds are going to her treatment and elongating of her happy life.
