ABOUT THIS PROJECT.

THESE THREE SISTERS is a dark comedy short film about three sisters waiting in their hometown diner to meet their dad's new girlfriend. As Gwen, Annie, and Lana commiserate over coffee, old resentments and past heartbreak bubble to the surface as they reckon with what it means to be adult siblings. What do you cling to and what do you let go of?

Even though this film deals with some heavier themes, this film is structured in the practice of situational comedy with character-driven humor and chaotic family relationships. The reason we want to tell this story in this format is to provide our audience with catharsis and laughter. As a bunch of indie artists, we want to make this film now so that we can continue building upon our experiences with our artistic community and collaborators, and exercise our artistic expression in the form we love the most--darkly comic narratives that make you laugh and cry at the same time about being human.

We're currently in the pre-production phase of this project, hiring our crew and cast, raising funds, securing location, and revising the script. We plan to film in late February/early March for one day. We will spend the Spring and early Summer in post production, editing and color grading our film. The Summer and Fall will be dedicated to submitting to film festivals and script competitions.

DONATIONS.

Please donate however much you can! We are a small but mighty team of indie artists in NYC who depend on your kindness to fund location fees, insurance, cast and crew rates and stipends, lunch!, and post-production fees. We don't take your support for granted. Follow us along at @_thesethreesisters_ for updates. And please share this fundraising page with your friends and family, whether you donate or not! Thank you, kindly.
