We are the Southridge High School Ski Racing Team.
We're raising funds for the 2019 season & beyond!
We are a 501(3)(c) non profit organization and a wholly self/community funded sport that relies on fundraising activities, charitable contributions and sponsorships to help keep our sport more accessible to families of different income levels. We are not financially supported by the school district.
We believe skiing is one of the best athletic experiences and skills to develop among youth as it combines a love and respect for nature and environmental awareness with hard work, a healthy lifestyle and the virtues of sportsmanship. By developing a skier, we're developing a life-long sport that can be enjoyed long after high school. And by being a part of this sport, they and their family are connecting to a lasting community of incredible friends that share that love for the wilderness and active lifestyles. These kids often visit after graduating, staying in touch each year, and exclaim that being on this team was the best experience of their high school years.
We've been working hard since summer doing everything from carwashes and school district fundraising to delivering pumpkins and poinsettias, trying to raise as much funding as we can on our own. We could use your help now too!
Your contribution will help us:
* Lower costs for team members and their families
* Replace dated and broken equipment (we operate in harsh environments at times!)
* Invest in new equipment to expand our program's training and tuning capabilities
* Train more often
* Alleviate State Championships costs -- we qualify every year by the great effort and performance of our student skiers!
We're trying to raise significant funds over the next 4 weeks so we can get equipment needed to start the season on a strong footing, and beyond that we will be able to help offset team member's costs and Championships costs.
Any amount you are willing to provide will be greatly appreciated, and will help ensure the success of our long standing team to bring more generations of young skiers into the sport. We've worked hard to recruit, build and maintain our program and the sport among our league, but we can't do it alone!
Thank you for taking the time to find out about us and for considering helping out!
Sincerely and with gratitude,
Southridge, Mountainside, Aloha, & Westview High School Ski Racing Teams
