Help Fund Ollie's Service Dog Training
Donation protected
Hi Everyone! The Mari Family is starting this GoFundMe to help our daughter and sister, Molly ,pay for her service dog, Ollie, and his training. Molly is a 19 year old sophomore at the University of Georgia who was diagnosed with Elhers- Danlos Syndrome, POTS, and Gastroparesis in 2019. Molly is a life-long soccer player and superstar, little and big sister, and academic rockstar. In only her second year at UGA, Molly has worked on a successful Senate campaign, was accepted into the Double-Dawgs program to pursue her Master's degree in International Policy while also completing her Bachelor's degree in International Affairs and Criminal Justice. Molly also has helped conduct research on election violence in Kenya with an esteemed UGA research professor, and tutored exchange students to learn English, all while managing her illnesses.

During her first two years of undergrad, Molly has had to learn how to manage her new diagnoses which come with many lifestyle changes. Molly's conditions cause her to have frequent loss of vision, seizures, loss of consciousness, and panic attacks. Each of these symptoms are things that Molly is learning to live with. Despite the many adaptations that Molly has had to make, she is hoping to regain some of her independence with the help of her new service puppy, Ollie.

Molly adopted Ollie in February 2021 after a love-at-first sight meeting. Ollie is a four month old AKC registered golden retriever puppy that we are planning to get professionally trained to help Molly navigate her illnesses. Ollie will begin his training with the Lumos Dog Training and Behavior Services (https://www.lumosdogtraining.com/) service dog trainer as soon as possible! Through this training program, Ollie will become Molly's go-to working best friend that will help alert her before she passes out, brace a fall, help when she has a seizure, and calm her down when she has a panic attack. Ollie is already such a big help when Molly passes out and has anxiety, so we are very excited to see how much more he can help her once he is fully trained!

Ollie's training will take between 12-18 months and will be specifically trained to Molly's needs. This training will consist of both in person and virtual training, and due to the need for such intensive training to become a registered service dog, this program is very costly. We are hoping that this campaign will help us fund the cost of Ollie and his entire training program.
We have already seen massive improvements in Molly since adopting Ollie, and we are so thankful for any way in which you hope to support her through this process. Once Ollie is a full service dog, we will be able to send Molly off to continue to achieve her school and career goals with comfort that her little boy will be right by her side. We are so thankful for the support that we have already received, and thank you in advance for any donations you make.
Thank you!
