Nesting Doula Collective

The Nesting Doula Collective emerged as a response to the need for culturally appropriate, linguistically diverse, and affordable birth support for newcomers. Newcomers face distinct challenges to navigating the health care system, including language barriers, financial constraints, precarious migrant status, as well as social isolation. We quickly recognized that these challenges are not faced by the newcomer community alone. Indigenous, Black, and racialized individuals also encounter barriers, racism, and trauma before, during and after birth. 

We are a growing collective of doulas who are passionate about providing inclusive and accessible care for all pregnancy outcomes. Nesting Doula Collective consists of individuals who provide support in multiple languages to Indigenous communities and communities of colour.

We want to grow our collective to serve a broader range of people!

This fall we are offering an accessible doula training that emphasizes the diverse range of experiences and needs of pregnant people in our community. And we need your help to make this happen.

Funds raised will pay for bursaries for training tuition which will cover trainer fees, venue, supplies, childcare, transportation, etc.
