Help fund my trip to World University Games (FISU)

Hi!
My name is Tyra, and I’m a track and field athlete who just completed my final year of teacher’s college at Western University. I’m incredibly excited to share that I’ve been selected to represent Canada this summer at the World University Games (FISU) in Germany!
This is an incredible opportunity—FISU is the second-largest multi-sport competition in the world, right after the Olympic Games. I’ll be competing in the 100m hurdles, and I’m also part of both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay pools.
As a U SPORTS athlete, I’ve had an amazing journey competing collegiately—first during my undergrad at the University of Guelph, and most recently during teacher’s college at Western. These years have not only shaped me as an athlete, but also as a person. That’s why it’s such an honour to now represent Canadian university athletics on the world stage.
My international journey began in 2017 when I represented Canada at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Nassau, Bahamas. That experience gave me the first glimpse at what it's like to represent Canada on the world stage, and I’ve been determined ever since to pursue track and field to the fullest. Despite a couple years of injuries, I proudly returned to the international stage in 2019 at the Pan Am Junior Games in San José, Costa Rica.
This past indoor season marked the end of my collegiate career, and as I step into the world of post-collegiate athletics, I am aiming to make my first senior national team—and ultimately, the 2028 Olympic Games.
This summer’s World University Games are an incredible stepping stone toward those goals, and I’m so proud to be representing Canada alongside so many other talented U SPORTS athletes.
However, this year’s event is self-funded for Canadian athletes, which means I’ll need to raise funds to cover travel and competition costs ($5500). If you’re able to contribute, that would be amazing, but if not, sharing this page would also mean a lot to me.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story, I’m super grateful for your support!
