I'm Wyatt Whittier, a filmmaker based in Salt Lake City, UT! I tell stories through transcendental style filmmaking, following a tradition of poetic, meditative, and spiritually potent films.
My new film, Before I Saw The Light, confronts the mystery and oddity of life beyond in a mundane, accessible way.
The story follows a man who kills himself, instantly regretting his decision. As his late father comes to take him to the other side, he tries to negotiate his way back to the life he left behind. Unbound by the constraints of space, Jack follows his wife as she commutes home, with futile attempts to communicate with her.
We hope this film saves lives, or at the very least, helps people recognize the beauty of the mundane and the weight of the things they stay alive for.
In order to reach maximum audiences, we want to submit to major film festivals around the world. Every submission gives the film new audiences, credibility, and opportunity for press coverage. After the festival run, the film will be available online for the whole world to see.
