Hey there!
My name is Daniel Acevedo, and I plan on taking on a challenging journey through the Pacific Crest Trail. I start on July 14th and will be on trail for the better part of 5-6 months. It's a 2650-mile journey that takes me through Washington, Oregon, and California.
I have wanted to hike this incredible trail since I learned about it 10 years ago.
While most people tend to hike from the Mexican border to the Canadian Border (Northbound), I plan to do it in the opposite direction from Canada to Mexico (Southbound).
I chose this route precisely because of the added challenge of starting in the most difficult part of the trail while simultaneously having fewer resources at my disposal.
Lately in life, I felt had struggled with committing to difficult tasks and overcoming obstacles. It's a trend I want to break, and I believe this journey will help me accomplish that. I believe even the very act of just starting this hike will already be a step in the right direction.
With all that said, I have still struggled with acquiring adequate funds for this journey and would greatly appreciate the support.
Here's where this money will go toward:
- Travel expenses (Getting on/off-trail)
- Food Resupplies
- Repairing/replacing gear
- Phone Bill, GPS Messenger and Map Services
- The Occasional Brewsky and Pizza
- Miscellaneous
It's been my dream to do this hike for almost a decade, and I feel it's time I don't just dream about it anymore. And I don't want to let funds be the reason I don't fulfill this.
So with that, any amount of support is greatly appreciated, and will help me reach this goal.
Thank you for your time and happ trails!!
