my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in 2020.
she lost her rectum, colon, and part of the large intestine after having to get a total colectomy, and went through various challenging times as she navigated through chemo and radiation. After a long hard year and a half battle, she was diagnosed cancer free for about 3 years.
it was then, in July of 2025 that the doctors found another cancerous tumor resting near her sacral bone and around her central sacral nerves. Having the tumor removed could cause serious damage if done incorrectly. So, we were referred to a more advanced and specialized cancer hospital: MD Anderson in Huston.
its a 9 and a half hour commute to Huston every other week and it isn’t covered by insurance. we just can’t afford that expense. We’ve been struggling to pay rent since we moved into our house, my mom works 70+ hours a week to help give me and my older sibling a roof over our heads. However if she can’t work, we can’t pay for her treatment or our bills or food to eat.
I am chronically ill myself, so I am unable to work a full time job and I am doing my best to help with a part time, but its just never enough.
my mom needs this treatment and I’d like to do whatever I can to help her, especially because we still aren’t sure how life threatening this second cancer journey is going to be . I’d like to take some of the stress off for her if it’s even possible, I just can’t do it on my own.
If anyone is willing to help it would genuinely mean so much.
thank you to all the wonderful and kind people out there.
a single dollar would be enough.
thank you so much.
