Help Fund My Kyoto Study Adventure

I'm so excited to have recently been accepted into a study abroad program in Kyoto, Japan with the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE). I will be spending the month of June in Kyoto with a group of students from around the world. This is an opportunity I didn't think I would ever have! Kyoto is one of the oldest cities in Japan, and I am looking forward to everything Japan has to offer. I will be staying with a Japanese host family and traveling to the CIEE center daily for language and culture classes.

I am looking forward to meeting my host family and the other students that will be part of this program. In addition to my language studies, I hope to see as much of the country as possible, learn to cook traditional dishes, and meet local Japanese high school students. I can't wait to see historic temples and shrines, the gardens and bamboo forests, and try all of the local food. This program will improve my Japanese language skills immensely and after my four weeks of study, I will be awarded college credits.
