When I was 8 years old I fell, and my knee dislocated for the first time. Growing up my knee continued to dislocate on and off for years causing me excruciating pain. A very dismissive doctor told me when I was 16 that my lower back and hamstrings were just weak, and that with strengthening my muscles the pain would go away…. That was not the case. I am now 26 years old and have to have knee reconstruction surgery because my knee developed incorrectly. This issue has held me back from doing the things I love, like hiking and dancing, and has caused immense strain on my mental health. It has impacted my daily life, my work performance, and has become very overwhelming to cope with. I had the surgery scheduled for 2/26, but I was informed on 2/19, that I am going to need $3,575 up front before I am able to have the surgery. I am creating this to reach out for help paying for the operation, so that I can live a normal life again. Anything and everything helps. Thank you.
