Yo,

I recently had an accident which has really screwed me over. I injured my knee many years ago, and have had many recurrent issues with it since. A couple weeks ago, I stepped on some ice which caused my knee to dislocate, twist sideways and behind me, and I landed backwards on it. I broke my femur, tore multiple ligaments, chipped off bone, and destroyed my remaining knee cartilage.

I had hoped to be able to rehab it and recover with physical therapy, but no luck. I was informed that I will need a reconstructive surgery, and possibly more than one, to regain the function of my knee. If I don’t have it, I will be stuck in an immobilizer indefinitely, as the injuries I have can’t be healed on their own. Not a prospect I look forward to as a 34 year old man.

All this is to say I need to raise some money. I hate to be that guy, but I am not too proud to ask for help when I actually need it. Currently I am scheduled to undergo surgery at the beginning of April, and as of current, will need to put together thousands of dollars in order to go through with it. I will also be out of work for an undetermined period, and I will not have any benefits to lean on as a private contractor.
