Thank you so much for visiting my GoFundMe page for my first-ever album!

I’m raising funds to complete my album, titled “Songs to Seed the New Earth.” I couldn’t be more excited for this, and it's been quite a process to get to this point. The journey of my song writing started around 10 years ago, when after some deep struggles, I gave myself permission to write and was quite surprised by what emerged. This was a very encouraging and empowering process to me. Little did I know that I had so much to share, nor did I realize that these songs would speak to others as well.

In addition, these songs have been a supportive companion on my own healing journey. Themes of my songs often include opening the heart, stepping up to our best selves, connection with myself, others and Mother Earth, forgiveness, and, of course, love. They are reminders for how I wish to live in the world, ways that I may bring awareness to my own imperfect self doing my best to walk with love and integrity. They are my innermost prayers. Sometimes I may have a song idea and work with that, but many times the songs seem to not come from my mind, but somewhere deeper within me or even beyond me. It’s a particularly thrilling experience when a song just flows out of me, like it really wants to be expressed, as if there’s a message that needs to be heard.

Over the years of sharing my songs at different song gatherings, I would get asked by some very kind people where they could find my music. All I could do was shrug my shoulders and tell them that I hoped to record someday. Well, that day finally arrived!

Now, the album is well underway. There are 12 songs on the album, and they are in the “song circle” style–which tend to be shorter, with lyrics that most often repeat like a mantra. They are simple to learn and share, are appropriate for all ages, and can be a vessel for deep meditation and healing.

I’ve collaborated with some incredibly talented, huge-hearted and highly experienced people for this project. A musician friend, Chad Wilkins, connected me with the music producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, John Alevizakis, in Nevada City, CA. Twice now I’ve travelled from the PNW to Nevada City to spend time with John (aka, “Jon Jon”) in his studio recording and working on songs. Jon Jon has worked with very legitimate recording artists over the years–see the “artists” page on his website (littlebuddhamusic.com). Chad also lends his vocal talent to some of the songs–he recorded songs in Australia with the help of Murray Kyle at Murray’s studio (thanks fellas!). And, if you happen to know the amazing Mary Isis, she sings on many of the songs as well. Add to that some guest instrumentalists, and I’m very excited and proud of how both the songs are sounding and how this project is coming along.

As it was a priority for me to put out a very quality recording, with all that’s been included, the expenses have added up.

The $7,000 I am hoping to raise will help pay for:

Studio engineer, guest vocalists and instrumentalists

Studio space and use of equipment

Mixing, mastering and post-production

Artwork and distribution/promotion costs

In a world so full of hurt, challenge and tragedy right now both in the collective and in people’s personal lives, I wish for these songs to be a beacon of hope.

Maybe these songs will touch something deeper within you, allow you to be more authentic, softer, more vulnerable. Maybe they can help to remind you of your true nature and that we’re not alone on this journey. Maybe they can help you live and love more courageously and really squeeze the juice out of this one wild and precious life.
