Hi my name is Teresa and I am fundraising for my Dad.

My father had a stroke just 3 days after being told by a surgeon to stop taking his blood thinner medication acutely for an elective surgery… His stroke resulted in full loss of his left side, left hemiplegia. He has some feeling left on the left side when provokes enough. His medical needs require facilities with hoyer lifts (sling lift from bed to wheelchair) at this time and 24/7 care. He has no insurance and is 62 years young turning 63 this August. He is mentally healthy. Ideally we would love to get him to a less intense level of care, needing only a 1 person transport or potentially living at home with a nurse. The money raised would directly go toward helping pay his monthly medical bills and PT, which is $50/15min alone at the place he is at. Unfortunately, for him to make improvements, PT is critical, but the cost of it is limiting him from getting adequate PT since we are struggling to pay his baseline monthly bills. Without PT, his medical status would not change and we would be using the money raised to keep paying monthly bills. With help, we can, not only pay his medical bills, but also get him PT. This would allow him to see improvement and the light at the end of the tunnel, get him to a lower level of care, and potentially get him to a level of in-home care.
