Hey y’all!
My name is Moraes (he/him) but most people know me by Mo. I’m a 27 year-old transmasc guy currently residing in Asheville, NC.
Even before coming out as trans, I’ve been learning what it means to build a safe home in my body. As part of that, I’ve decided to finally take the plunge that little Mo has always wanted.
After decades of just wishing for the body I knew felt like home, I‘ve finally put some action to those thoughts : my top surgery date is July 19th.
I am endlessly grateful for my community that has helped me get to a place to start this process, and I’m leaning on that support to help me get to the end, too.
Surgery ain’t cheap, especially when you don’t have insurance. The cost of the procedure will be around $8,000. Any funds raised will go directly to surgery costs and medicine/aftercare costs. If we hit the goal and keep it going, all extra funds will be redistributed to other bipoc folks’ gender-affirming care.
I cannot express how grateful I am to even have access to this opportunity.
So much love to each & every one of you.
xoxo
Mo
