Mama Martina Foncha (1946-2020)
Memorial platform in honor of the life of our mother, mother-in-law and grandma- Mrs. Martina Foncha. Ma Martina was born in Nkwen Bamenda in the North West region of Cameroon on New Year's day January 1, 1946. She passed away on June 20, 2020 in Virgina-USA.
Mama grew up in Buea where she attended Catholic School Buea Town. She later on fell in love and got married to her soul mate- Mr. Tanga (of late since 1993). Mami was abundantly blessed with nine (9) children- six (6) girls and three (3) boys. She fought really hard to raise the children especially after her husband left her with so much in her hands. Mama's life was marked by several unfortunate events. She buried 3 of her beautiful girls and one handsome boy. He belief in the almighty God kept her going and fighting for the rest of the kids. She was an avid Christian of the Presbyterian Church and belonged to the Christian Women's Fellowship (CWF) group that really inspired and kept her spirits up given the family losses she had. She was a good singer of the Alleluya choir.
Mama' kindness was contagious to everyone she came across. As a New Year's baby, she made sure that every day was a New Year's party for every child she met. She always made sure the everyone the visited her had food to eat and something to drink She is mother to many kids that are not from womb.
Mama was a very humorous person. She was popularly known as "Mami Grammar" or "Mami inquisitive" and made light of every situation that would have been otherwise. Mama had been sick for only two weeks. At the time of her death, she was living with her daughter and son in law in Fredericksburg Virginia-USA. She is survived by 5 remaining children, 13 grand children and 1 great grand child. Mama will be dearly missed. May her gentle soul now rest in the bossom of the great Lord. Amen!!!
