Hi my name is Maj I'm 22 years young and living in Manchester UK. I'm raising money to pay for top surgery. I have identified as non-binary for as long as I can remember and unfortunately was born with a large chest... Even as a child I never wanted to be womanly, I just wanted to be me, without any labels or expectations. I walked around shirtless all the time until I started 'developing' then I would get in trouble.
Being a woman was just never who I was, or will be. I hate how my body has determined my identity without my choice. I bind sometimes but it isn't comfortable, makes my chest hurt, and makes it hard to breath. Especially since I have a large chest, using a binder doesn't completely hide my features anyway.
I've never used a funding services before so I'm a bit nervous, sweating as I type this. But I have wanted this for years and have only just been able to move away from home and have the freedom to make this choice. I know I could wait 3 years or so and get in on the NHS, but I just don't think I could. It has already been 22 years, I just can't wait any longer.
The average price is upwards of £6000, not including the travel and time off work. While I'm saving all I can, living by myself and paying rent means it's going to take me a long time to save up, even a couple extra pounds would make all the difference.
Anyway!! Thank you for reading my story, if you would like to donate I would be so grateful, or even if you could share that would make me so happy too.
I will post updates of the journey on here as well!!
Thank you
Maj :)
