I started this fund raiser to assist my brother, Wayne (51 years young), to cover the travel and lodging costs for his living kidney donor, Christine.

Wayne has end stage renal disease and is on haemodialysis 3 times per week. Wayne gracefully accepted the challenges he faced in terms of his health, but also knows how much his quality of life can improve if a donor kidney becomes available. His best treatment option is a living kidney transplant and he has been cleared as a recipient. 

My good friend, Christine, lives in South Africa and though she has never met my brother, she has generously offered a kidney to Wayne and is willing to travel from Cape Town, South Africa to Sacramento, CA for testing and surgery.  It goes without saying that Wayne is overwhelmed by this kind gesture, giving him hope for renewed health which will enable him to continue in his job and to love and experience life to the full again. 

Medical insurance covers testing and surgery, but no travel and lodging for the donor. As soon as we have enough funds, Christine can travel. 

Christine’s act of love will change Wayne's life and that of our family. Any donation or assistance will make a difference!
