My mother has always had a favourite child - the one with 4 paws and a tail.
I'm writing this today to plead for your compassion, and any amount you can share to soften the impact on my mom's wallet - and her heart. If you can't contribute financially, please share this with everyone you know, anyone who has ever loved a pet more than their own being.
Leeloo was taken to the emergency vet this morning, and diagnosed with pyometra, for which she will take antibiotics for a week and have emergency surgery on Wednesday.
This is unfortunately not a particularly affordable surgery. We're trying our best to gather $5000 CAD for the surgery and after care.
My mom would like for you to take a moment to understand just how special this baby is to her, and how much she deserves a chance at living a full life.
Leeloo is a rescue dog who spent the first 2 years of her life locked in a shed. She was easily spooked, untrusting, and fearful - of men, loud noises, sudden movement, leaves falling in the yard.
Now, at just under 7 years old, she is a spoiled pup who loves nothing more than Mum. She demands bedtime snuggles in her special spot on Mum's bed, gets gourmet doggy dinners of beef stroganoff and chicken and rice, and sits in her cushioned bay window seat to watch the squirrels.
Her favourite days are the ones where she gets to play with her best friend Miso (who she does not like to share Mum's attention with too much). She loves to play in the yard and dip her feet delicately into her kiddie pool.
My mom is fully enraptured with this puppy. She's easy to buy gifts for at every holiday - just get something with a gray husky on it. You can't have a phone call without Leeloo giving her input, as she is attached at the hip, she's mummy's lapdog, and she wants you to know it.
Please help us to give her more years of love and attention, and bird chasing and burying treats - more years of my mom.
