Kylee Cox recently graduated from Chagrin Falls High School and is currently a freshman at THE Ohio State University studying Microbiology and Pre-Med. Kylee is a joy to everyone she is around and is known for her stellar academics in high school and outstanding involvement with numerous extra-curriculars. At OSU, Kylee is a PASS and Dunn Sport Scholar. Around mid-September, Kylee started noticing stomach pains and bloating. This was quickly brushed off as the infamous "Freshman 15," so Kylee altered her diet in hopes of resolving her pain but nothing helped. Early morning on Wednesday, October 28th, Kylee woke up with severe stomach pains and a fever. She went to the ER, where they did a CT scan and found a tumor on her ovary. She was quickly transferred from OSU to University Hospitals in Cleveland where they were able to remove the tumor with surgery. Unfortunately, Kylee was diagnosed with Germ Cell Ovarian Cancer, but the stage and form of treatment is currently unknown. Kylee will likely have to undergo chemotherapy and already has plans to shave her head before the process begins. Later this week, Kylee will receive her full pathology report results which will confirm her plan for treatment.
