If you haven't met him already, this is our beautiful and wild boy, Kush! He is an Alaskan Malamute/German Shepherd mix (or so we think), and 11 months old. We came across this little guy in February of 2018 and knew we had to bring him home.
About two weeks ago we started to notice he had some cloudiness forming in one of his eyes (you can see in the picture). This came across as unusual because he was still a puppy and we decided to take him to the vet to get him checked out. Unfortunately the doctor told us he has what is known as a Juvenile cataract which has already matured in his right eye, and another one forming in his left eye. This meant that he was already blind in his right and and that his left would follow soon as it was progressing extremely fast. To our dismay, our only option is for him to have surgery to get the cataracts removed. With his 1 year birthday coming up soon on December 25 (yes, he is our little Christmas present!!), we want him to be able to fully regain his vision since he is still so young and has his whole life ahead of him!
Unluckily for us, the surgery costs about $3000 per eye and being college students our funds are extremely low. We want him to have the surgery as soon as possible before he goes blind in both eyes and has virtually no vision whatsoever, but in order for that to happen we have to come up with the money. We know the holidays are coming up and everyone is tight on money while buying gifts and what not for their loved ones, but even a few dollars will help. We love our boy so very much and we would do anything to keep him smiling and running around.
Please feel free to share this with any animal lovers you know or anyone that might be willing to help. Thank you guys so much!!
