At just 25 years old Krista has begun the fight of her life.
For years, she lived with severe pain that doctors couldn’t explain. Despite countless appointments, her symptoms were often dismissed or minimized — at one point, she was even told it might all be “psychological.” As her mobility declined, Krista began using a cane and eventually a walker, still without answers.
Even through unbearable pain, Krista persevered. She completed her Master’s program, along with school placements and attained her Certification as a licensed Dietitian, determined to pursue her passion for nutrition. On June 17, 2025, she proudly crossed the stage to receive her master’s in Nutrition.
Unknowingly this would be the last time she would walk.
Days later, after a second trip to the ER, doctors finally discovered a tumor growing in her spine. Emergency surgery was performed to remove it, but Doctors could only remove 2/3s of the tumor, leaving Krista paralyzed from the waist down. Unfortunately, test results revealed that the tumor was cancerous. What should have been the start of her career has become a fight for her life.
Since then, Krista has completed radiation treatments and continues to face the daily challenges of recovery and care. Doctors have told her there are no further curative options, yet Krista’s strength, faith, and determination remain unwavering.
Krista is so much more than her illness; she’s kind, creative, and deeply caring. Her love of food and wellness inspired her platform, “Nourished Properly”, where she shared her joy for baking and healthy living.
As a recent graduate without insurance, Krista and her family now face overwhelming financial and emotional burdens. Your support will help with rehabilitation and medical care, equipment, accessibility needs, student loans and daily living costs. We aim to provide comfort, dignity, and stability to Krista as she continues this courageous fight. Thank you for surrounding Krista in love, strength, and hope, during this difficult time. Your love, generosity and prayers mean the world to Krista and her family.
