"KOOLTOPIA" CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGN
DIRECTED BY EMILE GRAUGNARD III &
WRITTEN BY RAJAN AWASTHI
Hello everyone,
My name is Emile Graugnard III! I am a 20-year-old undergraduate student at the University of New Orleans studying film. I've loved making movies ever since I was a kid, but I have never had the proper resources to produce one on a professional level.
Throughout the years, I've posted many "amateur" short films and one feature-length film on my YouTube channel . Some of these include: The Poodawg3 Movie (2021), The Interview (2024), Creature Quest (2024), the award-winning short film The Forest Goblin Saves the Earth (2024), and many more!
The assistant writer of this film is one of my closest friends, Rajan Awasthi. He is an accomplished graduate screenwriting student also at the University of New Orleans, and we have teamed up to create a film that could possibly be our best yet!
While the memories made working alongside my friends on these films are priceless, and I am extremely proud of how far I've come in the world of film, ALL of these projects have been completely self-funded endeavors. Which is why for my next short, Kooltopia, I am here on GoFundMe asking for YOUR SUPPORT to make this film the biggest and best film that I have ever made!
What is Kooltopia?
Kooltopia is a mixed media short film and love letter to the cheesy commercials of my childhood, and if you grew up around the 2000s, it's probably a love letter to yours too! The Kooltopia brand is inspired by fun kids' drinks like Kool-Aid, Hawaiian Punch, and of course Danimals Smoothies!
It is a horror film that follows the winner of the Kooltopia Sweepstakes, one of those many will enter, one will win contests that used to be on so many commercials.
After being denied the prize, Nathan Radman, an obsessive collector of Kooltopia memorabilia, takes it upon himself to steal a piece of Kooltopia history and dive into the deepest depths of Kool Studios.
Here are some films that inspired Kooltopia:
Why Do I Need Your Help?
As it turns out, recreating a cheesy 2000s commercial effectively can be pretty expensive, so I will need all the help and funding that I can get.
Every dollar you donate goes directly to the production of the short film, ensuring it can be completed by summer of 2026. By contributing, you'll cover the costs of the following:
- Props & Costumes
- Professional Crew Members
- Makeup
- Practical Special Effects
- Set Construction
- 3D-Animation
- Post-Production
- Catering
- and any other unexpected production hurdles
I believe in total transparency and will be updating regularly on my Instagram as the budget is considered, costs are covered, and goals are met!
To follow the journey and production of Kooltopia follow us on Instagram !
What Can You Do?
1. Donate: Even just a dollar would mean the world to me. Any amount you can contribute will go to guaranteeing a smooth production for the film.
2. Share: Put this link on your social media and share with your friends and family. Even if you can't make a donation, it would mean just as much to me if you shared the details of this production with everyone that you can!
3. Engage: Follow Kooltopia on Instagram for behind-the-scenes updates! And if you or someone you know is interested in working on this project, don't be afraid to reach out! We need to build hype for the project so it can fully reach its potential!
My dream in life is becoming a movie director, and I don't plan on slowing down anytime soon. I believe in Kooltopia, but as you can imagine, movies with goblin men, cloned YouTubers fighting an evil mafia, and movies starring an anthropomorphic polar bear mascot don't get taken as seriously as other projects, but I love meaningful films about the weird and fantastical!
So, if you believe in Kooltopia as much as I do, please give it a shot, and consider donating or interacting with this project in some form or fashion! Let's bring our imaginations to the big screen and help make my dreams come true! :)
Thanks in advance,
Emile Graugnard III
