Help Fund Kimchi's Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Mercuri, and this fundraiser is for my cat Kimchi. She just turned eight years old, though I've only had her for two years now. She had come from a hoarding situation in New York where she had been fighting 20 other cats for food. Though most of her life has been very difficult, she is extremely loving and friendly to whoever she meets, even at the vet. She has helped tremendously with my mental health, as I have depression and PTSD.
This fundraiser is to cover:
+ Cost of amputation $4150+
+ Cost of biopsy (testing the removed leg) $350+
+ Post-op needs: a larger crate than her current travel carrier, separate/larger litterbox, medications etc. $150+ (estimated)
Anything beyond the fundraiser goal will go towards her second surgery for complete teeth removal, another estimated $2500+.
These cost estimates are based on the several veterinarian visits I have already done and invoice estimations.

Kimchi has had this tumor for several months now, and I have been working part-time when I'm not in college to try to make money for her surgery, but the longer I waited, the faster it grew.
My cat can no longer afford to wait for this surgery. On top of that, Kimchi also needs a complete removal of her remaining teeth -- she had several teeth pulled before I adopted her, but the remaining teeth and gums are inflamed, so it has become painful for her to eat. Since the tumor is more time-sensitive, I am focusing on raising money for that first.
I cannot afford to do a partial tumor removal, do a biopsy (test it for cancer) and then do another surgery (be it amputation or removing only the tumor). I have already paid more than $1200 for vet visits alone, getting more than one opinion on what surgery is best, X-rays and bloodwork done. Those close to me know I have been struggling with this burden on my own for months now, trying to do artwork commissions despite my painful carpal tunnel (in both my arms) and still trying to find time to study in-between. My job has cut my hours to the point where there are some weeks I only work one or two days a week, so saving any money for her after bills has become increasingly difficult.
I have to pay 75% of her surgery cost before and 25% after the surgery is completed. With how things are now, I would have nothing left afterward. If you have the means, please consider donating or sharing the link. Any amount is appreciated and will go towards her medical costs. My family has blamed me for not taking her sooner and has even told me to give up on her, but I can't do that when she has done so much for me and doesn't expect anything back.
Thank you.
