This fundraiser has been initiated to provide assistance with the medical expenses and other costs that will arise. Kennedy Waymer, a senior at Paxon Advanced Studies, is set to graduate in a few weeks but has recently been diagnosed with Osteo Sarcoma, a type of bone cancer commonly found in teenagers. Kennedy experienced arm pain while practicing for her high school softball team, prompting her parents Sandra and Ron to take her to Nemours for tests. Following a month of testing, the doctors confirmed the cancer diagnosis. Despite this challenging situation, the doctors are optimistic about the upcoming surgery. Kennedy will begin chemotherapy on Saturday, May 18th, and is scheduled to undergo surgery to remove the affected part of the bone during the summer. Despite the bone cancer diagnosis, Kennedy remains dedicated to her love for softball. Having been a valuable member of our travel team since the age of 10 and the Tampa Mustang Self team since December 2019, Kennedy has displayed incredible strength and commitment. We eagerly anticipate her successful surgery and recovery, fully believing that she will return to the field in Spring 2025, ready to excel at the collegiate level at College of Coastal Georgia. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kennedy for a successful surgery, a smooth rehabilitation process, and a return to playing in Spring 2025. We are all behind you, Kennedy, and praying for a swift recovery with God's healing touch on your body.
