My Story

I am currently earning my bachelors degree in animation and visual effects from The Los Angeles Film School. In addition to the post-production side of filmmaking, I am working towards developing skills in production. I'm certified as a production assistant by the Utah Film Commission, and I've had some on set experience. But now I'm directing my own indie short film!

My Film

I will be shooting the film around Salt Lake City, and submitting it to local film festivals. This short film is about the inner conflict and consequences of major life decisions where we have to choose between what's expected of us and what we really want in life. The protagonist, Lacey, faces the tough decision of whether or not to get married to her fiancé. The story follows Lacey through an emotional journey where she learns what's most important to her. Lacey's journey mirrors and allegorizes some of my own personal experiences and I believe those experiences will lend authenticity to this film, allowing it to have a more real impact. I have already written the script and created a budget (see images above). I intend to keep this film low budget while still giving it the depth that this story requires. This means the story is focused on one main character across three locations. A large portion of the funding will go towards a small crew, to ensure high production quality. I'm investing a lot of my own money into this project, covering about a third of the total costs. I'm confident in the story that I have to tell, and I'm confident that I'll find the right people to help make this film. So, will you help me make this film?
