My name is Jessalyn Henriquez Polanco, and I am a low-income, first-generation college student of Dominican descent studying Psychology at Bard. I am thankful to be graduating this upcoming May! Last week, however, Bard unexpectedly increased my tuition. I am currently on their budget plan, and my mother is now expected to pay more than $3,300 per month for the next 3 months in order to pay my tuition in full by the March 20th deadline. My mother, a single mother of two, is unable to afford this added tuition in addition to the cost of living while providing for our family. I am currently working 2 jobs while juggling 5 classes as is. If you are able to, please donate (any amount helps) so that I can afford to finish my last semester at Bard and graduate this May. It would mean the world to my family and me.
