Dear family and friends, we are deeply heartbroken to share that our father, Jason Tseng, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2022. He was diagnosed with late-stage cancer that metastacized and impacted several of his major organs. It was just a few days between his diagnosis and transition to heaven. We ask your help to fund a private burial service at Rose Hills in Whittier that will be attended by family only.
Jason was born in May 1946, the oldest of 6 children. He lived a simple life, having spent the majority of it traveling the world and showing others around the globe. He loved to try new foods, and learn new languages and cultures. He was also an avid inventor of many household gadgets that improved one's quality of life. He enjoyed being on the go and was always spending time outdoors in nature. In fact, he was known to be the quickest hiker amongst his friends. Our father was the most intelligent man we knew, with perfect memory and vision (literally 20/20) even at the ripe age of 76. Because of his exposure to diversity around the world, he never judged a book by its cover and was always willing to explore the unfamiliar. He loved to boast about his physical strength and athletic accomplishments as a competitive swimmer in his younger days. His stubbornness forced him to keep a clean bill of health for a very long time as he hated going to the doctors. Although we wish he would've had decades more with us, we do believe he lived a beautiful and full life.
We are shocked by our father's sudden passing and are not prepared to pay for the memorial service that he deserves. Our biggest regret is that we took for granted his health by relying only on what we could see and hear over the phone ever since he moved to another state. We are grateful that his wife, our stepmom, took good care of him always, especially while his health was quickly declining just a few weeks ago. We are comforted by the fact that our dad got to spend time with his three grandchildren, having just met the youngest one a few hours before passing. We are blessed to have the best support system in the world to help us get through this overwhelming grief. Thank you for your consideration in helping us put our father to rest. Love you, baba.
