Help Fund Indigo's Bilateral TPLO Surgery
Donation protected

Hello Everyone,
2020 strikes again & following various vet visits, diagnostic testing & seeing multiple specialists, we have discovered that Indy is in need of Bilateral TPLO surgery (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy). Indigo was recently diagnosed with arthritis in both of her knees, arthritis in her hips, hip dysplasia & has worn through both cranial cruciate ligaments (dog ACLs) & is only 18 months old.
Indigo has had it rough from the beginning. Her & her seven siblings were found in early January 2019 at five weeks old. They were dumped in a park in Los Banos & found at night during below freezing temperatures. The puppies were malnourished, hypothermic & having seizures. Above all odds, all of the puppies made it out strong & are now in their forever homes.
Early on, I noticed Indy could not keep her food down. I finally decided to run allergy testing & found out that, like me, she has extensive environmental & food allergies. Luckily, she landed in the right hands & we were able to get her allergies under control. Then, she started to urinate in her sleep. Unable to control her bladder, I now have to watch how much water Indy drinks throughout the day & time her potty breaks per her water consumption. If I am unable to be home per her potty schedule, then she comes with me where I go. Come March, I noticed Indigo started having lameness in her legs after she napped. I first thought she was just sleeping on them funny, but then her limping became consistent. Due to COVID, I started to document her episodes so I could bring her to the vet when this pandemic was over. Little did I know how long it would last & one major episode later, I brought her in & sent my vet the videos. During diagnostics, I was able to connect with her biological brother whom was diagnosed in March with hip dysplasia. With this new information, I immediately brought Indy to an orthopedic specialist. I was given the news above & was told she would need three surgeries. With a second opinion from another orthopedic specialist, we have come to the conclusion that she needs TPLO surgery on both knees, which can luckily be done at the same time, cutting costs & recovery time, although still an expensive & extensive surgery with 6+ months of recovery.
Indy has had it rough since Day 1. She was dumped to freeze to death, she couldn't eat the treats her sisters were having, she wet the bed, she gets hives when she lays in the grass & now she's confused as to why her legs aren't working the way they should & why she is in pain after she plays with her sisters. 2020 was our year. I landed a career within a company that I loved, I moved into my first home three blocks away from work.. fast forward a few months & due to COVID 19, my position was eliminated & I was laid off of work. Unfortunately, with these circumstances, I have to swallow my pride & guilt & ask for help for my kid because she deserves to live a happy, healthy life.
I understand that this time has been financially excruciating for many of us, but if you are able to donate anything at all, I would be forever grateful.
If you could please spread the word & share this GoFundMe page, it may just land in the right person's hands.
THANK YOU.
