Update April 2026:
Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim.
First and foremost, thank you so much again to everyone who supported my family and my father, Imran Zindani, when we first shared his story. Because of our previous GoFundMe ($48,000), my father was able to successfully receive three months of immunotherapy last spring, and over the past year, we continued to fund this treatment on our own through myself, extended family, loans, etc. The family has exhausted all possible funds, savings, and assets to sustain his treatment.
For those who do not know, my father has been fighting cancer for over three years. In the Spring of 2023, he learned that he had a tumor (liposarcoma) in his chest cavity. This tumor spread to the outer walls of his esophagus. Over time, further cancer has been found in the small intestine (Adenocarcinoma) and in the stomach (Carcinoid tumors). And a year ago, cancer was also found in his liver. Currently, my father continues his fight against cancer in the stomach and liver, and is fighting to proactively prevent recurrence in the lungs.
My father has defied all odds to keep fighting, as noted by his doctor: “When Imran first presented to our facility, he arrived with a terminal diagnosis and a highly guarded prognosis of approximately six months. Over the past three years, through exceptional perseverance and a complex multi-modal treatment plan … he has shown remarkable clinical progress.”
Unfortunately, we are currently not able to fund further treatment despite doing everything we can to raise funds. In addition to funding my father's treatment, we have immense travel costs. My mom, sister, and I travel internationally because he can only receive treatment in Dubai. He cannot travel to the United States and has not been in the United States in the last 10 years.
The projected costs for his medical care alone over the next five months are $63,900, with $28,000 due in the next two weeks.
My dad is not done fighting. We are hopeful that our family will be able to generate more income in the future. Your immediate financial support is invaluable and would allow the impactful treatment to continue as we seek more sustainable ways to generate funds on our own.
Every single donation, no matter the amount, has an incredible impact. Any donation to this GoFundMe will go directly toward the $63,900 needed for the next round of treatment. We kindly ask that you consider donating and sharing this fundraiser and my dad’s story with anyone who can support. Please see below for a statement from my father’s sister, Kiran Ladha, his doctor, and Reza Ali. And we would especially appreciate it if you could keep my dad and our family in your prayers.
Thank you so, so much for taking the time to hear our story. The immense support my family has received has brought hope to us in such a difficult time. My parents are the reason I am who I am today. They’ve guided me through every phase of life, always encouraging me to lead with kindness and love. As I shared before, the greatest compliment I could ever receive is being told I remind someone of them. I promise to continue living with the same kindness and love they’ve instilled in me, and to pay forward all the prayers, support, and generosity we’ve received. Thank you all, again, from the bottom of my heart <3

Note from Imran’s sister, Kiran Ladha:
My brother, Imran bhai, is bravely battling cancer; he is not just my brother, he is a father figure in my life. He has instilled in me the values of education, encouraged my dreams of studying abroad, and patiently nurtured my confidence. I owe so much of who I am today to his guidance, his belief in me, and his selfless support through every step of my journey.
Beyond our family, Imran bhai has been an inspiration to countless individuals. He has selflessly served those around him, often without seeking recognition. He has personally contributed to the education and housing of many, hosted invaluable career sessions for young people, and ignited new dreams in them to pursue their passion. I am one of the lucky individuals who benefited directly from these transformative workshops. His generosity and dedication to lifting others up are woven into the fabric of who he is.
Now, it’s our turn to be there for him. Imran bhai faces his challenging cancer journey with a spirit that continues to inspire us all. Despite the immense physical and emotional toll, he approaches each day with courage, positive energy, immense patience, and profound gratitude for life.
Note from Imran’s Doctor:
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this letter in my capacity as the treating oncologist for Mr. Imran Amir Ali (49 years old) at Saudi German Hospital, Dubai. Mr. Imran has been under my specialized care since May 2023.
When Imran first presented to our facility, he arrived with a terminal diagnosis and a highly guarded prognosis of approximately six months. Over the past three years, through exceptional perseverance and a complex multi-modal treatment plan—including multiple rounds of chemotherapy, small intestine resection, management of liver cirrhosis, and four courses of CyberKnife radio-surgery—he has shown remarkable clinical progress.
To continue his fight against cancer in the stomach and liver, and to proactively prevent recurrence in the lungs, Imran is currently undergoing a rigorous and highly specialized immunotherapy regimen. These treatments are essential for his survival and ongoing stability.
The projected cost for his medical care over the next five months is $63,900 USD, he is currently being treated with four different immunotherapies.
Imran has exhausted all personal financial avenues to reach this stage of his recovery. As his physician, I can attest to the medical necessity of these specific immunotherapy agents. Any financial assistance provided will go directly toward these life-sustaining treatments and the administrative requirements necessary for him to continue receiving care here in Dubai.
We remain hopeful for Imran’s continued progress.
Note from Reza Ali:
Ya Ali Madad,
Imran Uncle gives so much to others no matter how much the world takes from him. He has poured a remarkable amount of trust, belief, and love into me in just our few short years of knowing each other. He has every right to doubt me — especially as the boyfriend of his eldest daughter — yet all I have received is the backing of a father who believes his child can do anything. I am the son of Rubina and Kasim Ali; I am the son of Mehreen and Imran Zindani.
Getting to know and spend time with Imran Uncle has been a great blessing, Alhamdulillah. The Zindani family’s capacity to center love no matter the circumstances changes my worldview every time I experience it. And I know, without a doubt, that anyone who has experienced love in this world has done so, in-part, thanks to Imran Uncle. The love of the universe is watered by those who share theirs with the world.
Imran Uncle is not done fighting. And while myself and the family will continue doing everything we can to maintain his treatment, we need your help right now. All funds raised will go directly to his necessary medical treatment, which requires $63,900 over the next five months with $28,000 being due in two weeks.
I hope to be half the man Imran Uncle is one day; I have the chance to do so because of his unwavering belief in me. Your support helps us pour the same trust, belief, and love into him as he does for all of us lucky enough to know him.
P.S. Imran Uncle, if you are reading this, do not think I’m taking it easy on you during family monopoly. I look forward to defending my title with you and all of the family soon, inshAllah. Also – the cowboys suck.
Previous campaign from January 2025:
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem.
If you know me, you know that the highest compliment anyone can give me is to say I remind them of one of my parents. They are the two pillars of my life — strong, humble, and endlessly caring — and they’ve shaped me into who I am today.
I’m writing with a heavy heart, hoping this message reaches those who can offer support during a challenging time for my family. In the Spring of 2023, my father, Imran Zindani learned that he had a tumor (liposarcoma) in his chest cavity. This tumor spread to the outer walls of his esophagus. Over time, further cancer has been found in the small intestine (Adenocarcinoma) and in the stomach (Carcinoid tumors). Most recently, cancer has also been found in his liver. Over the last 2 years, my dad has fought tirelessly against this incredibly rare and unique cancer diagnosis. My dad's doctor is amazed at how much he has fought back: “Imran is a remarkable patient with exceptional willpower.”
At this point, the only viable treatment for this rare and aggressive cancer is immunotherapy. Further chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery are no longer viable; however, my dad has responded exceptionally well to previous immunotherapy specifically for his stomach cancer. The cost for the first three months of further immunotherapy for this new liver cancer is $34,000, with the hope that, InshAllah, it will be effective enough to move on to the next rounds. Despite everything, my dad’s doctor still shared with us some inspiring news: “With ongoing advancements in cancer treatment, there is hope for improved outcomes.”
My parents have given everything they can, but they are no longer able to cover the escalating costs. This is where I’m asking for your help. Any donation to this GoFundMe will go directly toward covering the expenses for the next three months of treatment.
Please consider donating and sharing this.
More than anything, my family would appreciate your prayers and support during this time. Thank you all from the bottom of our heart.
