Paddy's Dog Rescue is stepping in to help Hugo, a wonderful dog who desperately needs our support to live the happy, healthy life he deserves.

Hugo's owner has reached out to us, recognising that she's unable to meet his needs and wants a loving home for him where he can truly thrive. This gentle giant has been living in a small kitchen or outdoors and hasn't had a walk in over a year.

When we met Hugo, it was clear he needed immediate attention. He has a number of health concerns, including persistent diarrhoea, a growth on his foot, other unexplained lumps and bumps, potential dental issues, and a very dry nose. He will also vaccinations, neutering, deworming and defleaing. We also have him booked in at the groomers for his first bath in a long time.

As a brand-new rescue, we have no reserves, and the cost of his vet care will be substantial. We rely entirely on the generosity of people like you to help dogs in crisis.

Our dedicated team is now walking Hugo daily, helping him rediscover the joy of stretching his legs. But what he truly needs is a foster or adoptive home where he can receive consistent care, comfort, and affection. Hugo is a sweet-natured boy who could live with other dogs after successeful introductions. He might even be able to live with cats, as he's unfazed by a neighbour's feline visitor. While he currently lives with young children with no reported issues, our rescue's policy is to rehome dogs with dog-savvy children over 12 years old.

Hugo has already stolen all our hearts. He's just a big, lovable goofball who craves cuddles and attention.
