Let’s Help Honey!
Want to help make a difference in the life of this little sweet thing? My name is Reinita and my neighbor rescued this cutie after witnessing a hit and run leaving Honey behind, suffering from life-ending injuries.
HONEY’S STORY: Miriam, my neighbor, took her to the 24-hour animal emergency clinic, True Care For Pets in Studio City, the night of the accident where it was discovered that Honey (a name given to her by the staff) had suffered a broken pelvis and hip. The following day, Miriam notified me that she could no longer be involved due to personal reasons so I decided to see that Honey received the surgery she needed. Otherwise, she would be put down.
A couple of days later, Honey went into surgery at Kinder 4 Care. After opening her up, it was discovered that she had a ruptured bladder so the surgeon repaired that first, closed her up and sent her home to see if she’d be able to urinate on her own. The very next day, she did just that so the following day, now Friday, she went in to have her pelvis/hip repaired. It was successful, however, over the weekend Honey stopped urinating and pooping so I took her back to True Care For Pets to figure out what was going on. The result, Honey had also suffered a urethra tear, which caused urine to accumulate in her abdomen. She had to undergo immediate surgery. She’s been hospitalized there since Monday 7/15.
As of now, Honey has undergone 4 surgeries. She has shown nothing but heart, fight and determination to get better. She’s such a sweet dog and as long as she wants to fight we will give her a chance to fight. Her tests are normal, the leaking has appeared to stop and she could be released as soon as Tuesday. However, she is in need of one more surgery to repair a tendon in her pelvic area.
Now, for those who have pets, you know animal hospitals are extremely expensive. That is why I ask you to please give what you can to help cover her medical bills and future care. Anything will help! Last night, my next door neighbor, Miriam, was driving and witnessed a car run over a small dog and keep driving. She was able to get the dog into her car and bring her to the hospital. She has a shattered pelvis, a fractured hip, and some head trauma. She is being cared for given pain meds at the moment. I will be picking her up and taking her for surgery in the morning.
I’m looking for help in covering the cost of the surgery she needs - I don’t want to her to be put down. My neighbor already has paid $2800 dollars to have her emergency care covered.
If you can help at all - any donation is very much appreciated. This sweet girl needs our help. Thank you so much.
