Hollie’s Hope Fund

Hollie is a beautiful 22-year-old with endless energy, dreams, and a zest for life. Despite her diagnosis, she’s still making plans, still laughing, and still reminding us that without hope, what do we have left?

This fund will help Hollie support the incredible charities that have cared for her and our family. Every donation makes a difference – not just for Hollie, but for others who will sadly walk the same path.

Thank you for helping us keep Hollie’s hope alive.

Hollie’s Hope Fund

Hollie’s mum and dad were able to purchase the first few months of ONC201 treatment. Sadly, it was started very late in her journey and hasn’t had the impact we had all hoped for.

Despite everything, Hollie is still making plans – she dreams of Christmas in Lapland, starting a family, and we are all inspired by her positivity and courage. She never gives up hope, so we can't.

As the tumour progresses, Hollie is mostly bed bound and as well as being blind Hollie has lost the hearing in one ear completely and is losing it in the other too. She is also experiencing numbness in her hand and difficulty swallowing her medication. Her diagnosis is difficult, but Hollie wants the truth to be shared, she chooses to focus only on love, laughter, and light. She reminds us daily that without hope, what do we have left?

Hollie has asked that when the time comes, the money raised here is shared between the wonderful charities who have supported her and our family. These organisations have given her comfort, care, and dignity – and she wants her legacy to be one that continues helping others in the hardest of times.

For now, Hollie is still living life as fully as she can. She recently celebrated her 1yr anniversary with her boyfriend as this was one of her goals for her to reach. This week she has been planning a camping trip to Leeds Festival, asking to borrow her dad’s tent and if he wanted to attend and set it up with her and she spent time with her much-loved cat, Toby. Being a Foodie fan Hollies conversations are often about her favourite meals and restaurants, The Barn, Tipsy Chef, Little Town Dairy, Salvatores and Gino's are the most mentioned currently. Family and friends continue to visit, and every day she brings joy to those around her with her strength and zest for life, her witty sharp sense of humour is very much alive and kicking, she's even giving the nurses a chuckle or two. Being able to smile with Hollie during these times is making some happy memories amongst the obviously sad ones.

We want to thank every single person who has donated. Your kindness has meant so much to Hollie and all of us. If anyone wishes to have their donation returned (minus JustGiving’s fee), please let us know. Otherwise, please know your donations will go on to support the charities that have been so important to Hollie’s journey.

Hollie still has big dreams, and who are any of us to tell her they won’t happen? With your help, Hollie’s Hope Fund will not only support her wishes now but will also make a difference to others in the future, keeping her spirit and memory alive.

Hope for Hollie – Help Us Get Urgent Cancer Medication not available through the UK NHS

Target: £13,000 | Urgently Needed for Life-Saving Treatment

Hollie is trying to stay positive throughout this treatment. Our beautiful Hollie is just 22 years old. In early 2025, she was diagnosed with Diffuse Midline Glioma (H3K27M mutant) – a rare and aggressive brain tumour with no known cure. At the time starting a family of her own had to be put on hold so she could begin treatment to try and save her own life. Hollie is a loving kind person and a qualified nursery nurse she loves the children and babies she's looked after over the years and is devastated not to be in work seeing them grow.

We never imagined having to ask for help or to be looking outside the UK for cancer treatment to try and help Hollie, the kindness and support we have been shown is very touching and having Hollies older sister living with us for 10yrs who has learning difficulties has added extra time pressure as we are trying to stay overnight with Hollie in the hospice and look after her sister and work in between. We only mention her sister so you understand the time constraints we live with, otherwise we'd be working more to just earn the money instead of asking for donations. The family are on a rota to ensure someone is with Hollie 24/7 as she does not want to be left alone.

Since February, Hollie has undergone six weeks of intensive radiotherapy. The good news is that the tumour in her brain has slowed in growing. The devastating news is that the cancer is more aggressive than first thought and is no longer isolated to the one area, until Hollies family are fully aware of the extent of her condition we won't be sharing but please revisit this page for updates, Hollie is trying to stay mentally positive and is hopeful the drug from Germany will help with her quality of life.

She was working in a children's nursery at the time of diagnosis and wanted nothing more than to start her own family. Shortly after radiotherapy treatment began, Hollie experienced a seizure and woke up completely blind. Despite numerous scans, no physical cause has been found. She is now also beginning to lose her hearing and has lost the ability to walk at all.

Hollie is currently staying at a fabulous Hospice in Preston where she is surrounded by love and care. But we are in a race against time. The medication Hollie urgently needs is not available on the NHS and must be purchased privately from Germany Imipridone/ONC201 cannot be purchased in the UK sadly.. She also requires a series of IV treatments to help relieve the symptoms and pressure caused by the tumour.

We are desperate to give her a chance—not only at comfort and peace—but at life.

How You Can Help:

We are aiming to raise £13,000 to contribute towards the cost of her treatment that looks to be around £13,000 every 3 months. :

Importing private medication from Germany -
Imipridone 201 3 months supply~ this drug costs €272 per tablet, she needs approx 50 tablets every 3 months.
She also needs 185 tablets of 2 Deoxy D Glucose

Immediate IV therapies and supportive treatments

Specialist care and transport if required

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us give Hollie the chance she deserves. A chance to see, to hear, and to live without pain.
Any surplus donations will be split between St Catherine's Hospice, teenage cancer trust, Galloways for the Blind and Brainkind.

With love and gratitude,
Stephen Leishman (Hollie’s Dad)

Callum Horsfield (Hollies boyfriend)
Sarah Walmsley (Hollies Step mum)

and the whole family supporting Hollie are truly grateful for anything you can help with.
