Help Fund Hinwa's Memorial and Send him Home

Donation protected

Hi my name is Nyawa Allieu. I'm the younger sister of Hinwa Allieu, a former Loper and UNK graduate and in honor of our family and his close ones, I'm fundraising for his funeral expenses. Hinwa leaves behind his wife Katie Allieu and their 6 month old baby, named Maada along with countless other family members.

This go fund me is in loving Memory of our incredible brother Hinwa…

One of the kindest individuals you’ll ever meet,  always had something positive to say even if at times his world would be seemingly be crumbling down, he kept his cool and executed what needed to be done with a confidence that was inspiring.

We are in utter shock, we will take care and spoil his son forever, and always tell him, how unique and sweet his father was.

We pray God guides him on his journey to heaven.

We know he’s  probably getting everyone to dance up there, or telling everyone how chill he is, if they didn’t already know.

We love you forever Hinwa!

We want help in anyway transporting his body back home to Sierra Leone, West Africa where his parents, Prince and Mychaella Allieu reside along with his other younger sister Munjay Allieu and all other family members. In between transportation of the body between continents and flight fees along with other funeral expenses it's bound to be an expensive but necessary ordeal so we can send my brother back home to Africa. We also have plans of holding a memorial for him which is bound to have hidden costs that we don't know about.

Please help in anyway that you can no matter how small or large and If you can;t give please share and spread this. Hinwa didn't deserve to die, especially in the way he did but I hope to make his lay to rest an easy one and keep his memory alive as best as I can because he was a son, brother, friend, and father and he was larger than life itself and my hope is his legacy will surpass time because it's what he deserves. He's joy personified, a gentle giant to all.

I've attached an article from the Omaha World Herald. While it doesn't encompass his entire life story, it does show some of his major accomplishments:

"24-year-old former University of Nebraska at Kearney football player (Hinwa Allieu) died early Sunday in a rollover crash on Interstate 80 near Ashland, Nebraska.

[redacted]

In a statement Sunday, UNK said Allieu graduated in July with a degree in construction management. He was born in Sierra Leone, West Africa, and moved to the U.S. in 2013, later graduating from the Avalon School in Wheaton, Maryland.

UNK football coach Josh Lynn said in the statement that the Loper family was grieving over the loss. Allieu played football for UNK from 2016 to 2019, recording 160 tackles and 15.5 sacks for UNK as a defensive lineman.

“He was a gifted player and team leader, and an even better man,” Lynn said. “The thoughts and prayers of the University and our football team are with his family and countless friends. We send our heartfelt condolences.”

The three-time All-MIAA selection signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent in April 2020. He later played professional football for the Houston Blues in the Spring League, a developmental league featuring former college and NFL players."

Gone now but forever in our hearts. Rest in Power always.
