Hi! My name is Gwendolen Adelman and I am a senior studying choral music education and vocal performance at IU’s Jacobs School of Music. Currently, I am doing my student teaching at Franklin Central High School in the Indianapolis area.

The Franklin Central choirs are going on an Italy tour this upcoming October. I’m very grateful to have been asked to join and conduct on this tour, along with partaking in the entire rehearsal/logistical process. This opportunity would give me experience in conducting real students in real concerts, rehearsal experience with a select choir on a time crunch, and administrative experience for learning how to handle choral tours and travel fees. As a whole, this tour would open up a lot of learning opportunities for me and give me a once-in-a-lifetime experience before stepping out into the real world.

As a full-time student, I am unable to support the cost that the trip entails. Because I have been working at the school and balancing a double major, I have been unable to pick up as many hours from my part-time jobs. I’m asking help from the community to fund this amazing opportunity in hopes that it would grow both me as a teacher and a student. Thank you for your consideration in this cause!
